Eilean Donan Castle
Eilean Donan Castle is probably the most photographed castle in Scotland , if not the world , and castle pictures feature on countless postcards and calendars . It can be photographed at almost any time of year but obviously the weather can affect the whole mood and atmosphere of any pictures of the castle . Late afternoon in summer is my favourite time , when the sun is starting to get low in the sky and the whole of the face of the castle is in sunlight.
Eilean Donan Castle is on the west coast of Scotland , near Dornie and about 8 miles from the Kyle of Lochalsh. It is probably the most photographed castle in Scotland because of its beautiful location in the centre of 3 lochs , surrounded by mountains
